Applechem’s SorbiThix L-100 is now Globally Compliant
Parsippany, NJ, —
In response to China’s NMPA unveiling the new CSAR chemical regulations in 2021, the Applechem regulatory team faced a pivotal challenge and opportunity regarding SorbiThix. The revamped regulations not only transformed the registration process for existing ingredients but also provided a pathway for introducing new ones. The team spent two years of diligent effort navigating China’s new submission requirements which required extensive efficacy and toxicological testing, a comprehensive safety assessment report as well as substantial financial investment in developing the requisite expertise on the new NMPA platform portal.
“Before the new China cosmetic regulations were rolled out, it was difficult for non-domestic manufacturers to introduce innovative polymer structures like Sorbithix into the Chinese market,” says Samuel Lin, Managing Director of Applechem. “Now, as we align with modern CSAR regulatory requirements, we stand poised to compete with the best, delivering exceptional solutions to the global personal care marketplace.”
Ultimately, the NMPA’s approval marked a significant achievement, highlighting Applechem’s ability in both research and regulatory compliance, particularly in the intricate process of gaining approval for a new polymer under China’s rigorous safety assessment regulations.
